CITY IMAGES

What: the roots of fashion

When: until September 26

The influences, ideologies and inspirations behind Australia’s fashion capital – that’s Melbourne, by the way – are celebrated in a new photographic exhibition The Age of Fashion. Curated by the Sunday Age’s Rachel Wells, the exhibition features striking archival and contemporary images spanning the city textile factories of the 1950s through to the transformation of Chapel Street and the Melbourneborn designers conquering the world. More than 90 images are featured in the exhibition. At QV Square, level 2, QV (between Russell and Swanston Streets, city). For more information, visit qv.com.au
